Spring Dinner


We start the season with our traditional Spring Dinner. You are cordially invited. Just get pampered by our tasty and various offer of dishes, of meat or fish, fresh salads and various vegetarian dishes, as well as the first asparagus, prepared in different variations. As a welcome we’ll serve you a vitamin-packed fruit cocktail for free.



Visit the Franconian Switzera with more than 200 Easter fountains (erected ca. 1 week before easter until ca. beginning of may). Savour our rich menu choice or our famous home-made “grannies sheet cake” (50 cm round baking tray) during your stopover. Just utilize our large parking area behind the house and visit the baroque pilgrim basilica, a masterpiece of Balthasar Neumann, just vis-à-vis our house.  Also the 925 years old castle with its splendid view is worth visiting.

Pilgrims’ period

Now is the beginning of tbe “pilgrims’ period” (may until early in october). Experience the entry of the pilgrims’ processions at the weekend. The solemnity of our basilica is on sunday after pentecost, when ca. 23 pilgrim groups with ca. 3000 persons  visit Gößweinstein. On our sun terrace “to see and to be seen” you may follow this tradition and meanwhile savour tasty meat or asparagus dishes.


In summertime there aren’t only sumptuous ice cream bowls, but also already fresh chanterelles and delicacies of the venison of franconian forests, as well as various fish dishes from local waters. For our vegetarian guests there is a rich choice of fine salads or fresh vegetables from the market place.

With the beginning of the carp season we invite you to our Carp Dinner.
Look forward to fresh carps of the Aischgrund, crisped in clarified butter or prepared in root pot liquor, as well as other innovative recipes of our chef de cuisine.

Period of autumn


Walkers may enjoy now the golden autumn with fresh porcini, as well as our choice of meat, fresh from the hunt, prepared in the tipical  way, or “just in a different way”.
